Until he asked, I never really considered my modern kitchen and I asked myself the question: What is a “modern” kitchen? After some research on what elements of contemporary cuisine to put together, I discovered that I was able to break the style in three sub-styles. Each sub-style is always necessary elements to consider cuisine “contemporary” as a clean side, seemingly simple and general guidance on function rather than form. The sub-styles have their own unique perspective on how these elements have been implemented and used by such common features as appliances, cabinets, countertops and floors.
Taken to an extreme minimalist kitchens end up with a fully equipped gym where the bare essentials remain. The second sub-style of a contemporary kitchen is what would be considered “modern house”. Although there is still a focus mainly on the function and minimalism, contemporary style that blends into the equation some of the atmosphere in a family environment. There may be cold granite color instead of white tiles, polished wood floors instead of concrete paint selections and more colorful, but in all elements of contemporary style remain. Although the focus is skewed more pleasing to the eye functions, redundancy slim space is always maintained.
The third sub-style of cooking today would be that the “position”. The functional sub-style blends minimalism and a Homier feel a mixture of essential design and relaxing naked. Similar to a restaurant kitchen, the emphasis on modern and functional kitchen is an area that is as useful as possible without the restoration of minimum values. Whether visible or not, the kitchen decor is functional to the needs of the chef and his efforts in the kitchen and preparation.
